Andrei Konchalovsky's film "Paradise" pushed to the Oscar

Andrei Konchalovsky is preparing to represent our country on the Oscars. In 2002, he had already participated in the film race with the film “House of Fools”, but he did not make it to the short list of the nomination “Best film in a foreign language”. Now it's the turn of the black and white drama "Paradise", which, after the Venice Film Festival (where the film received the Silver Lion), has serious chances to win. It is worth noting that the Russian Oscar Committee made a difficult choice, the tape competed with the "Disciple" Kirill Serebrennikov, the "Crew" Nikolai Lebedev and "Dear Hans, dear Peter" Alexander Mindadze.

The action of the drama "Paradise" takes place during the Second World War. Julia Vysotskaya plays an emigrant Olga, a member of the French Resistance (yes, the role for which she had to shave her head). Also starring Viktor Sukhorukov, Christian Clauss, Philippe Duquesne and Peter Kurt. There is no trailer in Russian yet, but we can watch a video with English subtitles, which was shown in Venice.
