Stabilizer for LEDs and DRLs
Almost all motorists are familiar with such a problem as the rapid failure of LED lamps. Which are often placed in the side lights, daytime running lights (DRL) or in other lights. As a rule, these LED lamps have low power and current consumption. What actually means their choice. By itself, a LED easily serves in optimal conditions for more than 50,000 hours, but in a car, especially in a domestic one, it is sometimes not enough for a month. First, the LED starts to blink, and then it burns out altogether.
For my practice, I changed dozens of such lamps. Most of them have not served a year. In the end, I was tired and decided to look for a simpler solution. The circuit is taken from the datasheet on the L7805 chip. It's simple - left input,on the right - exit. Such a stabilizer can withstand up to 1.5 A load, provided that it is installed on the radiator. Naturally, there is no need for a radiator for small light bulbs. The body serves as a thermal blower. Plus the scheme is that it is fashionable to use the car body as a radiator, since the center pin of the microcircuit case is connected to the minus .That's all, LEDs no longer fade. I have been driving for more than a year and have forgotten about this issue, which I advise you too.
How is this explained? The manufacturer of the lamp writes the marking "12V". This is the optimum voltage at which the LEDs in the lamp work almost at maximum. And if you apply for this lamp 12, then it will serve at maximum brightness for a very long time. So why does it burn out in a car? Initially, the voltage of the onboard vehicle network is 12.6 V.The overestimation from 12 is already visible. And the voltage of the network of an established car can reach up to 14.5 V. Add to all this various jumps from switching high-power high-beam or low-beam lamps, high-power voltage pulses and magnetic pickups when starting the engine from the starter. And we will not get the best network for powering LEDs, which, unlike incandescent bulbs, are very sensitive to all differences. As there are often no limiting elements in simple Chinese lamps, except for a resistor, the lamp fails against overvoltage.

Simple voltage regulator for LEDsTo ensure comfortable operation for LEDs, I decided to make a simple stabilizer. Absolutely not difficult, any motorist will be able to repeat it. All we need is: Everything seems to be. All equipment costs a penny on Ali express links in the list.
Build a stabilizer for LEDsAll you need is to cut the necessary piece out of PCB. There is no need to poison the tracks - I cut out simple lines with an ordinary screwdriver. Solder all the elements and everything is ready. Does not need to be configured.
