Spinner stalker from plexiglass with his own hands
Spinner is an interesting thing for children, although, frankly, I don’t understand what the interest is ... as, incidentally, everything is older generation. But recently, having looked at this thing in the case, I thought, why not do this myself? For the sake of interest - I can, or I can not? Yes, and then you can give the children, instead of buying ... As I understand it, the main thing in this design is balancing. The more precisely all the blades of the structure are balanced, the longer the spinner on the bearing rotates. With the help of a compass, we draw a circle on the plexiglass, with a diameter of 7 centimeters. Now, installing a thin cutting disc on the emery machine, we saw off along the drawn circle. For more convenience, you can first cut off all the corners, then cut off the remaining pieces, until we get a more or less even circle. Now, align the circle with the compass strip on the disc side plane. After the circle is completed, you need to find the middle in it. That is the center. This is easier than ever - there probably remained a mark from a compass needle when we were drawing a circle on plexiglass. If, all of a sudden, they did not find him (maybe, he got stuck during work), then we take a sheet of paper, attach our Plexiglas circle to it, circle it with a marker, and cut the same circle out of paper. Fold it in four, as even as possible. Smooth on tight paper folds. Expand. The center can be immediately seen at the fold of the four sides. Using this pattern, attaching circles to each other, mark the center of the plexiglass circle. Remember; the smoother the circle, and the more accurately the center of the circle is determined - the better balancing the structure will have, and with perfect balancing, the spinner will rotate several times longer than with poor balancing with the same bearing. Now you need, with the help of a ruler and a thin marker, to put on the circle markings in the form of divisions into six equal parts and a small, 1.5 centimeters, circle in the center - these will be the borders of the holder, for which the spinner is usually held.Cut out pieces; one through one.Now it's the turn of the bearing hole.We measure the diameter of the bearing, take a drill suitable for this diameter, and drill a hole at the very center. If the hole is not enough - modify it with a round nadfile, and if it's great - add a layer of tape to the outer surface of the bearing. We insert the bearing into the drilled center of the workpiece. We do not forget to process the edge of the workpiece with a nail file, from burrs. The main part is ready. Now you can glue it with colored adhesive film. For a figure like mine, I would naturally approach a poisonous-green color (bright-green!), But since I did not have it in stock, yellow was also suitable.
- A bearing (the smaller the better).
- Plexiglas, 5 millimeters thick.
- Self-adhesive colored film.
- Sanding machine.
- Marker with a thin pen.
Making a stalker spinnerPurchase a suitable bearing You can in any store selling auto parts. So, first you need to cut out of plexiglas on an emery machine an even circle. To do this, take a piece of plexiglass, an area of approximately 8 × 8 centimeters and a thickness of 5 millimeters.
