A remarkable exhibit for a children's zoo can be a giraffe made of cardboard tubes (tubes of toilet paper and paper towels). Work with such cardboard rolls is good because it does not require much effort to create volumetric shapes - the finished tubes are easily cut, transformed, painted, but they also keep their shape perfectly. The giraffe, made as an artifact from cardboard tubes, is very bright, expressive and realistic.
What you need :
- four short cardboard tubes (from toilet paper) and one long (from paper towels or cling film);
- landscape sheet;
- paints and two brushes - wide and narrow.
For two short cardboard tubes, we make oval cutouts to make it easier to fasten them with the third tube.This will be the giraffe's paws.
We cut another tube in half and fasten the cut edges together so that It turned out a pointed cone.
Making a cone
From a piece of cardboard left when cutting the legs, cut out the horns of the giraffe and glue them into the junction of the edges of the cone. It turns out the head.
We fasten the horns
We bond together the details of the giraffe: one short roll turns into a body, a long one is glued to it roll - neck and paws. The head is glued to the neck. In general, our hand-made article - giraffe - is ready.
It remains only to give it color and make small strokes.
Paint our blank in bright yellow.
We paint in yellow
When it dries , brown paint draw spots like those of real giraffes.Make spots on the face lighter than on the body.
From the album sheet, cut a long narrow strip, cut one its edge, turning into a fringe. Glue this strip along the neck of the giraffe - it turns out withers.
